At The Surgical Specialty Center of Westchester, the safety of our patients is now and has always been our first priority. Likewise, we have been working diligently to maintain a safe environment for our patients here at this facility. As we go through this pandemic together, we wanted to share some information that may help you to understand this commitment.
During this Crisis:
- Unlike hospitals, we have not treated known COVID-19 positive patients.
- We have screened all patients and staff for COVID-19 symptoms. Any staff, surgeon, or patient who showed any signs or symptoms of COVID-19 were not allowed and will not be allowed entry to our facilities.
Moving Forward:
- All patients, staff, and surgeons will be screened prior to surgery.
- All surgical patients who pass screening will then be COVID-19 tested in the days prior to surgery. COVID-19 positive patients will have surgery cancelled/postponed.
- We have adequate supplies of PPE, medicines, and surgical equipment to take care of our patients.
- All staff and surgeons will be wearing appropriate PPE. All patients will be wearing masks.
- The facility is rigorously disinfected between every case.
- The waiting room is closed until further notice.
- Visitors will not be allowed, except for guardians who accompany minor children; one guardian will be permitted.
- There will be no unnecessary contact.
- For those with outstanding bills, please feel free to call and we can process payments over the phone with your credit card, rather than in-person.
Please Note:
- Our entire staff is fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
- Patients may present a vaccination card or a negative COVID-19 test up to 5 days prior to surgery.
Finally, thank you for your patience through this challenging time. Our team is grateful and proud to serve our local community with ongoing quality patient care.
